Yes another busy summer comes to an end, and I think we made the most out of these months. We been pretty much everywhere this year and these last month we been doing Kazakhstan, Portugal, Georgia, Holland, Belgium, UK and Spain.If we gonna mention some of the coolest ones, then it´s probably Georgia and Portugal. Georgia held their first even FMX event ever, and they did it with style.

Red Bull X-Fighters Exhibition Tour in the middle of Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, in front of a 80 000 strong crowd Nick Franklin, Morgan Carlson and Stoica did what they do best. The police expected around 15 000 people, and was a bit out numbered when people filled up streets, houses, roofs, cars and traffic signs the get a hint of the guys.

Expect more from these countries, they are so strong right now, motivation, strong consumers and good capital behind.Jimmy, Gilles and Broecky did a show at the start and finish straight just before the start at the GP2 series in Portugal.

As you Europeans might know, the GP2 is the sub division of the F1 and attracts good crowd and great media coverage. Our aim is to entertain the people, make solutions for our promoters and give our team, riders and sponsors media coverage. And this year we definitely stepped it a notch or two.Next up is a couple of Monster Jam shows in Barcelona, Helsinki and Stockholm. And also a long awaited show at Oslo Spectrum in Norway!

EUGENE CLOSES IN ON CHAMPIONSHIP LEAD

PARKALGAR HONDA’S Eugene Laverty is only two points behind the World Supersport Championship lead after finishing a brilliant second in today’s 12th round of the World Championship at Imola in Italy; while Parkalgar Honda racer Miguel Praia finished a career best ninth.

Oil on the track forced a two-part aggregate race and then with just three laps to go Championship leader Cal Crutchlow crashed out of the race, leaving Honda’s Kenan Sofuoglu to win. There are only 50-points and two races left in the Championship, meaning Laverty is assured of second place in the title race or better. The penultimate round of the series is at Magny Cours in France next Sunday, October 4th.

Eugene: “I wasn’t able to show the Parkalgar Honda or my own true potential this weekend because of arm and leg pains that stemmed back to Friday’s delayed timings. I have an old injury in my left arm and a problem with my leg that means I have to stretch a lot on Thursday and Friday but this weekend the sessions on Friday were so interrupted I didn’t get a chance. The result was a lot of pain and this morning I had 10-injections in my arm and leg each – I was worried about even finishing the race so to get second when I could have been much stronger is excellent. I can’t believe I am back in the fight for the title, this is the closest I’ve been all year and I’ll be going to Magny Cours and then Portimao doing my best to win the World Championship at our home track.”

Miguel: “I am happy, ninth is my best ever result and the racing is getting closer to Portimao which is just as we planned. I actually crashed on the oil on the circuit when the first part of the race was red-flagged but got back on and to the garage. The second part of the race was good and my lap times were only a little bit behind the leaders. I was lapping faster than the group in front and if I had made a better start who knows what could have happened. My bike is good and the Parkalgar Honda team has done a great job.”

Simon Buckmaster, Parkalgar Honda Team Manager: “Eugene was so much better in the race than practice and qualifying, his head was in the right place and he got the reward – he cannot be beaten for second in the Championship and has a real chance at winning it. There are only two rounds left with two points in it; that just goes to show the pressure of fighting for a World Championship, today it was Crutchlow that made an unforced error and scored no points. It’s now a two round Championship and the final round is at our circuit in Portugal which gives us a lot of encouragement. It was a good job by Miguel to finish in ninth. Honestly, I have never seen him ride better than he is right now; he’s stepped up a level. Well done to the whole team, it’s been a fantastic effort from absolutely everyone.”

FSX Rider Eugene Laverty - MY NAME’S EUGENE AND I’M AN ARSONIST

It felt good to be back racing in Germany after such a long break, too long in my opinion. There really is no need to shut up shop for a month and a half with just four rounds remaining but that’s how it is. I was back on the rostrum at the Nurburgring which was important after two lowly fifth places at Donington and Brno. Yamaha were too fast for us again but I was pretty pleased to finish in the runner-up spot ahead of Lascorz. It proved a terribly difficult weekend for us as our best engine blew on Saturday morning and the bike went on fire. I believe we can challenge Yamaha at Imola where we tested back in July; the Honda chassis is very precise and so the more tracktime we get, the better.
It was so bloody cold at the Nurburgring. Friday was wet and miserable and although the weather picked up over the weekend the temperature remained baltic. I spent a few days in Dusseldorf after the race and I couldn’t believe how much better the weather was. I was cycling in 32℃ on Tuesday just 150km from the circuit where the temperature had been in the mid-teens. Strange thing geography.

Did anyone see Alex De Angelis’ Friday practice crash? I don’t like to criticise but my God man, sort it out! He turned too tightly at the first corner and crashed on the grass on the inside, that’s just not on for a guy who’s racing at the pinnacle of the sport. His race crash wasn’t much better.
I’m going to Croft on Friday to watch BSB practice then I’ll head back to Ireland to enjoy the weekend at home. It would be nice to see John land a podium before the season’s out, he’s got six opportunities left and I reckon he can do it. By the way, Michael was really strong all weekend in Germany but unfortunately he fell early in the race. Here’s a tip for you if you like a spot of gambling. Get down the bookies and bet on Michael Laverty finishing in the top six at Imola, you’ll get some good odds on that un! Don’t say I never give you anything.

Dungey Wins Championship

Congratulations to Fox Racing's Ryan Dungey for capturing the 2009 AMA 250cc MX National Championship.

RD10 capped off an incredible season in which he won his first Westcoast Lites SX title and now the MX title. Ryan even appeared on two magazine covers (Racer X - June / Transworld MX - September).

Dungey will move up to the premiere 450cc class next season. He will make his big-bike debut at the MXoN in October. Ryan will carry the #1 plate for Team USA as they battle the world in Italy.

Britain’s leading freestyle motocross riders converge on Trax in Preston’s docklands for an all-out FMX fest!

Bikes, bands, beer, babes and barm cakes – Air Warriors has ‘em all and a massive crowd of over 5,000 FMX fans come out to witness the lot at Preston’s first ever freestyle contest. Organised by Croston’s John Pearson the laid-back northern style comp is a hit with the spectators who get great value for money and the riders who put on one hell of a show.

The competition is won by Devon’s Jamie Squibb who edges out Dan Whitby and Chris Brock to Air Warriors gold while the super-stylish Samson Eaton and Danny Veale battle it out for fourth place.

With all the competitive stuff sorted the riders put on an awesome free ride exhibition while the band (Hyperjax – who break a bass guitar en-route) try to sort their ***t out. The highlight of the night for many is when JP himself pops off a backflip or five just as the show’s winding down.

“It’s been a pretty good night all in all,” reckons John. “The crowd got into it and the riders gave 100 per cent. I’ve got to say a big thank you to everyone who came out and all the event sponsors – Monster Energy, Freestyle Xtreme, Madison and THOR clothing, Michelin and Putoline. See you all next year!”

Freestyle Xtreme / Metal Mulisha MTB freerider Elbry Sandland has been mixing up his riding this year, First racing and making a 4x main event at the start of the year and last weekend Elbry took on the exmoor mtn bike marathon, Reported to be the hardest mtb enduro in the UK, 75km of tech moorland trails with over 2,500m of climbing, "It was savage! but i was happy to finish with the front runners and hope to come back next year and smash my time of 7 hours"

FSX Quad Rider Ewan Williams #117 - Age 7

Hi again, I’ve got a race at Duns in Scotland tomorrow so we’ve packed the van and prepped the Quad ready and will be setting off at tea time, I’m not really looking forward to it as its my least favourite track, but all rounds count this year so I cant afford to drop any points. Scotland here we come...

Saturday 11th July
19.00pm Arrived at the track at duns and Dad hasn’t got lost this year, most of my friends are already here and it’s really cold luckily Mam's packed me warm clothes.
21.30pm Had some time with my mates but its time to set the inflatable bed up for a good nights sleep ready for tomorrow.

Sunday 12th July
Woke up on a flat/Wet air bed, its rained heavily all night and the rear roof vent of the van has leaked in and soaked everything (Great Buy Dad). The Racing has been cancelled due to the weather, I’m a bit disappointed but it can’t be helped.

Friday 17th July
Had a really busy week at school and no time to get out on my Quad at nights for practice but 6 weeks off school for the summer holidays is finely here so plenty of time for that if it doesn’t rain. In the garage with Dad to check everything’s ready for British Youth Quads Round 3 at Dean Moor, Cumbria.

Saturday 18th July
My friend Callum has came to my house with his Dad for the afternoon and we spent some time drawing before going to a party.
17.30pm Loaded the van and up to the track to have my Quad and race gear scrutineered, all in order so time to walk the track before the race.

Sunday 19th July
07.00am Up out of bed got dressed and in the van feeling very cold and still half asleep. It’s an important race today with it being the first time I’ve entered a round of the British Youth, if I do well I might be able to go to the next and final round in Oxford to give me more experience for the whole series in 2010.

07.30am Got to the track, set up and met up with Callum, a quick cuppa to warm me up then up to signing on for the riders meeting. Marshalls meeting after this and was happy to see some of the members of Whitehaven Motorcycle Action Group (MAG) who had agreed to supply Marshalls for the day. A BIG THANK YOU from Me and the NETT Members.

11.00am Had my practice session, I like to take it easy to learn the track and gain confidence before I race for real. Got back to the van and Dad made me help him change the rear wheels, He reckons if I ride it I’ve got to know how to fix, I think he was just being lazy! I’ve got an hour to wait until I’m riding so time to watch some of the best riders in the country competing in the MMX BRITISH QUAD CHAMPIONSHIP Round-5 & the BRITISH QUAD QUALIFIERS Round-3.
Race 1.

13.25pm My first race of the day and it’s the longest I’ve been on the track (10mins + 1 lap) but I’ve really enjoyed it. Had a poor start but pulled back a few positions and I finished in 3rd place, over the moon with that and Dads smiling like a Cheshire cat. Only 1 more race today so now its time to chill out and spend some time with my friends, Lunch first though.

16.45pm This is the last race of the day, another bad start but managed to finish in 4th place, the weathers been great and I’ve really enjoyed the day racing. I’m really shattered now and need a drink before the presentation.

17.00pm The Presentation. I cant believe it I’ve came in 3rd place for the day, Dads proper Buzzing and I cant believe I’m on the podium, There are really good riders in the 50cc class standard and modified (which race together). I’m meeting new friends all the time, Some here today are from other clubs from Scotland to the South of England; I’m looking forward until my next race (NETT Quad Championship Round 7 - 9th August at Wooley grange) already and to hopefully compete in the next round of the British Youth Quads.
