X-Fighters is rolling through Madrid this weekend and we cannot wait to see what happens. The last round saw home town hero Taka Hishigano take the top podium spot in Osaka and many are tipping Spain's own Danny Torres to push Tom Pagès and Levi Sherwood for the win this time.
Regardless of who grabs the result, the atmosphere inside the Plaza de Toros de las Ventas always makes for an incredible night. The FSX crew will also be there, catching up with a few riders and taking in the action – so keep up with our blog and facebook for all the inside news.
And don't forget that we have all the X-Fighters merch here at FSX. Check it out today!

Kawasaki's New Bikes
It's the time of year when we can all get excited about teams revealing new bikes, and Kawasaki has gotten in first with a pair of beauties.
The team has launched its new KX 250F & 450F bikes with an awesome gallery of the machines being ridden by Ryan Villopoto and Adam Cianciarulo.
The big change is that the 450F will now include Air Forks as standard, much like those RV has been riding this season.
Check out the full galley here, and let us know what you think!

Stolen Bikes
An unfortunate rider who had seven bikes stolen from his house in Surrey has taken to Facebook to track down the thief.
Please take the time to take a quick look at the gallery of his bikes and do call our friend Harry if you have any information about them.
Twitch Riding Dirty
To promote his upcoming appearance in the Munich X-Games best whip contest, Twitch has released an awesome edit of him practicing on some huge dirt jumps in his native San Diego.
Twitch is a fan favourite with seven X-Games medals already in his locker; and if he can pull off even half these whips in competition then he's looking good to walk away with another! But as we know, everyone steps it up for X-Games and the boys got some stiff competition .

Ricky Carmichael Back in the UK
The Greatest Of All Time, Ricky Carmichael, is bringing his RCU training school back to the UK this summer!
250 people have already signed up to the exclusive RCU weekend in Doncaster, where Carmichael and his team will spend the day giving tips to attendees while riding the course alongside them. It is set to be an explosive event where fans can catch a rare glimpse of the now-retired Carmichael in action.
There are also spectator tickets available, plus tickets for mechanics who want to learn the ropes. Visit the RCU website for more details
Ken Block SPY Glasses Now in Stock
We are very happy to now boast a whole new stock of SPY Optic sun glasses here at FSX, including the super rare Ken Block signature series.
SPY first appeared on the scene during 1994, formed by a group of athletes and designers who needed glasses that were anti-fogging and water drip resistant. We haven't found anything better to wear when out riding and are stoked that we can now offer them to you.

Riding with The Mulisha's Brian Deegan
Sometimes you should think about what you wish for, because it ain't always so pretty in real life.
The FSX crew were spending some time with our friends at the Mulisha at X Games last month, when founder Brian Deegan offered our marketing director a ride along in his car. It seemed like a good idea at first. I mean, who turns down a gentle drive with Deegan? Well, thinks got a little hairier than expected.
To be fair, our man on the ground kept his cool for about five seconds before turning into a kiddie on a rollercoaster and cacking his pants.
If this is how Deegan treats his friends, we'd hate to get on the wrong side of him!

Interviewing FMX and X-Fighters Rider: Tom Pagès
Alpinestar has put their Facebook users questions to rising FMX star and X Games 2012 best trick winner, Tom Pagès.
During the interview, Pagès discusses never really enjoying the special flip because of how scary it is and also how the FMX scene is developing in France.
This is one any FMX fan shouldn't miss.

In Praise of Bike Mechanics
In bike sports it seems that every bit of praise is saved for the riders. Rightfully so, it's the rider who risks their neck every race and puts it all on the line. But every now and then we need to think about the mechanics, the guys who tune that bike to within an inch or perfection and give their riders the best possible shot of winning.
So we've been stoked to see Suzuki do just that, with the release a short video of mechanics Lee McCollum and Rene Zapata talking through the rebuild of James Stewart’s Factory Yoshimura Suzuki RM-Z450. Interesting stuff!

West Coast Choppers
If there's one thing we love here at FSX, it's custom bikes with sick paint jobs. As you might imagine then, we're big fans of West Coast Choppers and were stoked when they released this gallery of their best custom jobs to date.
This blue monster is our favourite, but there's not a bad apple in the bunch. So let us know which bike you'd most like to ride away on.

Rob Smith Helmet Cam
Downhill supremo Rob Smith has just released a GoPro of his epic run from this year's Fort William World Cup. Seems like there were some hairy moments in than run, but Rob pulled it off with his usual style; hitting hard burns and taking air wherever he could.
Those of you with keener eyes may notice an FSX sticker on top of Rob's head, and we're proud to have sponsored this super talented rider for the last two years. Long may it continue!

Drew Bezanson vs Joyride 150
Last week we featured flatland BMXer Tim Knoll taking his sport to the next level with some insane new tricks. Well, Canadian rider Drew Bezanson has been doing his part for regular BMXing in recent months by setting Youtube ablaze with ground-breaking edits from his home park in Ontario, Joyride 150.
This latest edit raises the bar again, with new park builds allowing Bezanson to fully showcase his amazing skills. With all this fresh talent around we think this could be the dawn of a golden age in BMXing, and can't wait to see who drops the next edit.

Danny MacAskill Imaginate
Between 2010 and 2011, Danny MacAskill helped change the public perception of bike sports with his videos Way Back Home and Industrial Revolutions.
Combining imaginative riding with soft, indie production and folk music; the videos were a million miles from BMX and skateboarding's angsty images of cool guys swearing at security guards. This was a type of riding that everyone could understand and that even your Mum would be in awe of.
Well, this week MacAskill took it one step further with the release of Imaginate – a riding film that sees him shrunk down to the size of an action figure to back flip of playing cards, air between toy soldiers and wheelie a tank.
So, is this the best riding film of all time?
NASS is Shaping Up
NASS has revealed its Pro Park set up, competing athletes and music line-up this week; and safe to say this year is going to be a monster.
Nas and Katy B will headline the music arena, while skaters such as Ben Nordberg and BMXers Alex Coleburn and Matt Whyatt will do battle in the Pro Park to grab their share of the £30,000 prize purse.
We're going to be checking out all the FMX action at NASS, because you know if Jamie Squibb is involved then it's going to be awesome. We hope to see you there.
To check out all the weekend's action visit the NASS website today.

BMX flatland : The Next Generation
Flatland BMXing has often gone under the radar. The complexity of the tricks can make it hard for casual fans to get get into, and it´s a shame that so many talented riders have come and gone without mention.
Well throw that logic out the window, because the sport has just found it´s own Rodney Mullen or Danny Macaskill in Tim Knoll - a rider who has taken flatland BMXing to the next level with tricks that will capture even the most casual fan.
How he rides under those lorry trailers is beyond us, and that upside down grind? Forget about it!

Double Grab in Slow Motion
At FSX we always love seeing classic tricks from new angles, and this double grab in super slow motion by Ailo Gaup for Ailo Clothing is one of the coolest edits we've seen in a while.
But it got us to thinking, what other tricks would we like to see in super slomo?

Seth's Head
Remember at Crusty Five when the front half of Seth Enslow´s handle bars snapped on an insane 220ft jump and pierced his skull? Well Metal Mulisha have posted a gory throwback shout out to the 55 staples it took to put his head back together - and safe to say it´s nasty stuff.
In tribute to the insane crash, we've dug out a few of Seth´s danger jumps and want to salute the man for his insane style and balls of steel.

Tom Pagès Highlights
Between his X Games run and coming second overall in the X-Fighters series, Tom Pagès had quite the 2012. Now, Michel Never has cut together a highlight package of Pagès year along with a few sneak peeks of what´s to come.
In the video, Pagès discusses putting together his X Games run as well as giving us one more look at his incredible special flip - and we could watch that trick all day!

Winter Style
Forty8 has just posted a short interview with Daboot Crew´s Alexey Kolesnikov, discussing his sweet custom YAMAHA YZ450f.
Kolesnikov described the ride as his winter-style bike, that was influenced by riding his training season in Russia on ice and snow with spiked tires.
We think you´ll agree, the cold Russian winter has made for one hell of a bike!

Man vs Moto
Our good friend Ray Chuss recently put Jordan Booker on the spot for a new Moto interview series where anything goes.
Booker runs a sweet MX course that is just down the road from FSX here in Bristol, where he can usually be found tearing up dirt morning, noon and night.

Jeff Herling's Huge Crash
We were at MXGP Ernee in France last weekend and saw Jeffrey Herling's huge crash first hand. It has to be one of the sickest stacks we´ve ever seen and the video doesn´t do justice to how steep that landing really was.
It´s amazing that the MX1 World Champion managed to walk away unharmed, let alone get back on his bike and continue riding. The young champion - who many have likened to F1´s Michael Schumacher for his no-nonsense style - may have his critics in MX, but there was applause from the crowd when he arose from the slam.
With his bones of steel and giant set of balls, we at FSX have no doubt that Herling is only at the start of what is going to be a huge star. We´ve heard on the grapevine that he´ll be racing in the US within two years and no doubt be dominating the competition there!
Australian Underground FMX Championships
The Australian Underground FMX
Championships are set to start in just a few weeks, and we figured
what better way to get us in the mood than by looking back at some of
last year’s action.
The event is a four round FMX
competition series running from June through October and caters for
both Pro and Underground riders.

Athletes Live Here with The Mulisha
The Metal Mulisha’s Larry Linkogle is
the latest to feature on Athletes Live Here, an awesome blog which
interviews interesting athletes from every sport about their
background and how they made it pro.
In the interview, Larry discusses his
childhood, MDP block and founding the Mulisha. This is an insightful
edit not to be missed by any Mulisha fans!

Nate Adams Bike Check
We all love seeing riders hitting big
jumps and so it’s cool when they take the time to talk us through
the machines which help them do it.
Nate Adams is known for being pretty
fussy with his ride setup, and you can see why in this video when he
shows his customised low-profile seat and grab holes. Take a look and
then let us know if you’ve been tempted to try out any of Patchy’s
mods.

Night of the Jumps: Hamburg
If an insane Brody Wilson run wasn’t enough to make you watch this video – how about we throw in a streaker to boot?
Wilson was nearing the end of his run, which included double kick backflips of every kind, when an uninvited guest hit the jumps. Now in the riding world we’re used to seeing scantily clad women parading around the riders, but this time it was a German dong gracing the podium area.
And to make things extra funny, a security guard fell off the stage while chasing the uninhibited streaker. Genius stuff.

GoPro: Desert Lines
It’s always cool to see the best riders hitting new terrains, and where could be more different from dirt jumps in a forest or X-Games courses than the desert?!
Recently Red Bull’s Ronnie Renner and Rockstar Energy’s David Mills strapped on some GoPro cameras and left the dirt to hit a few desert lines. This sick video was the outcome, and if you’re anything like us you’ll just be entranced by that final shot.
Isle of Man TT films
Protective gear company, Dainese, has
commissioned a series of short documentaries to tell the story of the
Isle of Man TT.
The Italian company hope to capture the
personal tales of racers, tourists and Manx folk whose lives revolve
around the legendary 37.7-mile course. To accompany them, former RAD
presenter Christian Stevenson met with the characters who help make
the event happen – including everyone from Scout leaders to Hells
Angels.
You can check out all the films as they
are posted at Dainese’s Youtube channel.

Insane Grid 2 Special Edition

When Tony Hawkes Pro Skater came out, Activision sold special edition copies with signed boards. When the latest Call of Duty hit shelves, Infinity Ward had limited packs that included night vision goggles.
Well the makers of Grid 2 have made these look like cheap goodie bags by releasing a special edition copy that includes a real, working, street legal super car. Yep, a super car.
Costing £125,000, the special edition also comes with a custom made racing suit and a PS3 to play the game on. So, anyone with a spare hundred grand?
Customer Shots
We here at FSX have lately been stoked
to receive shots of you guys wearing our gear while out riding.
It was especially cool when one of our
customers, Ted, sent in a few pictures of his son, Ryjder, wearing a
helmet we supplied during his race at the third round of the Dutch
National series.
It got us thinking, we’d like to see
more of you guys repping our gear – so when you’re out riding
take a shot and email it in to blog@freestylextreme.com.
Happy riding!

Hometown Hero Wins X-Fighters Osaka
It was a story straight from the notepad of a Hollywood screenwriter, as rising FMX start Taka Higashino topped the podium in his home town during X-Fighters first ever Japanese visit.
With the crowd firmly behind him, Higashino battled Frenchman Tom Pagès in the final – who himself had dominated the qualifying and the opening rounds - and put together a string of 30 meter jumps to seal the victory. Page’s race didn’t go unrewarded, however, as his Double Nac Indian Whip won him the Swatch Best Move Award.
Higashino’s win puts him fifth overall in the world tour standings and means that each of this season’s four meets have been won by a different rider. With only two rounds left this season, and the pack this close, we can’t wait to see what happens when X-Fighters stops off next in Madrid.
Live For It
Fox has just released a short behind the scenes look at their moto-X athletes as they ride the SX season. This is one of the best shorts we've seen this year – what do you think?

After the Rain at Fitzland
Here at FSX we've been checking back through some old videos and when we stumbled across this Mulisha hangout session, we knew we had to post it.
The video sees the Mulisha crew hitting Jimmy Fitzpatrick's Fitzland, 54 acres of dirt packed with 180ft jumps and steep doubles. Better yet, the rain had just fallen and they had fleet of loaders to shape the land. You don't get perfect conditions like that every day!

Vanni Oddera has a Sick Bike
The guys over at Forty8 have awarded Vanni Oddera's custom designed KTM as their bike of the month, and it's not hard to see why.
With gold trims and hand designed stencilling, the bike is something Oddera is particularly proud of. “In the 2012 season I used two bikes, identical except for the colour white for the summer season and a black for the winter season,” he says. “This is because I used the bike as a dress, trying to follow the fashion style for the colours throughout the seasons.”
Check out a whole gallery of this sick bike at Forty8.
