GoPro Video Shows The Reed/Stewart Crash At Oakland

This video was sent to me in an email from a (Stewart-loving) colleague with the heading 'Chad Reed is a plonker'. It seems that his rather restrained rage has been repeated with some heated debates on the internet too.

Was this just an unavoidable racing incident? Should Reed have been punished for it? How would everyone have reacted if Stewart was the one responsible for the pile-up?

To be fair, as soon as you are watching things unfurl from a rider's perspective, the whole thing is over in the blink of an eye. But what do you guys think? Let us know in the comments below.

Travis Pastrana Unveils His Wild New NASCAR Paint Job

What the hell is going at the moment? First Ken Block reveals his Miami Vice and Hair Metal-inspired Hoonigan Fiesta. Now Travis Pastrana has gone full-on 1980's with his 2013 NASCAR Mustang.

“I said, ‘I want it bright, I want it bold, and I want it ’80s.’ It’s a little pinker than I had originally planned. I think that was the guys just thinking they were going to try to get me beat up at a NASCAR race,” said Pastrana.

Last year, Pastrana had a disjointed NASCAR program with a Boost Mobile Toyota Camry that was disrupted by injury and commitments to the Global Rally Cross Championship. For 2013, as a driver for Roush Fenway Racing, Pastrana has signed up for a full NASCAR series.

To show his dedication to NASCAR (and satisfy his sponsors Red Bull and DC, who have invested heavily in Pastrana), Travis won't be doing any NASCAR/GRC double shifts and has been warned off from motorbikes. So, anyone expecting to see TP attempting an 'American Roll' this year is going to be disappointed.

“Everyone is like, ‘When are you coming back to motorcycles?’” Pastrana said. “For me to say I’m not, a lot of people are like, ‘What the hell, you’re leaving us?’ 

“I’m like, ‘No, it’s a new challenge.’ I appreciate the fans that stuck with me and hopefully by the end of the season we’ll be in the hunt for some wins. I know we need to win to get the fan base over here.” 

With a colour scheme like that, we certainly won't be able to miss him. Time to get that '99' sticker sorted out though, Travis!

Supercross: Anaheim 3 Animated Track

we might just be the little people. But we have a voice! Green arrow has learned to whip! After four races without properly getting into it, ol' Green has finally decided to turn on the style...

This weekend, the Supercross returns to Anaheim in California for the third time and fingers crossed, all the riders will be able to make it past the first corner without a massive bundle. Lets's also hope that someone like Barcia or Millsaps will be able to nip another Villopoto whitewash at the bud.

Snowmobile Rider Caleb Moore Fights For Life After X Games Crash

Freestyle Snowmobile athlete Caleb Moore is currently in a critical condition with 'brain complications' after his accident on Thursday at the 2013 Winter X Games in Aspen.

Chad Reed On The Road

Chad Reed and his TwoTwo Motorsports Supercross team hasn't got off to the start that he and a lot of his fans had hoped for. Although still in the running, this video proves that he still needs that great finish that will boost his confidence and give the team the inspiration that it needs.

DC Shoes BMX Crew Tour South East Asia

There's something about this video, starring DC Shoes BMX athletes Jeremiah Smith, Alfredo Mancuso and Dylan Stark that gives off a great vibe. Maybe it's the music or the scenery. Perhaps it's the feeling riders genuinely had a great time and enjoyed entertaining the crowds in Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand. 

Either way, it's a great vid and well worth a watch.

Ryan Villopoto Wins Round 4 Of The 2013 Supercross In Oakland!

The 2013 season is well underway now and after a less-than-perfect start, two-times champion Ryan Villopoto is quickly reasserting his dominance of the championship. Now just 8 points adrift of the behind leader Davi Millsaps, back-to-back wins for the last two races has done wonders for his position and his confidence.

The same cannot be said for Chad Reed and James Stewart. The latter seemingly veering from one disaster to another. Not that this particular incident was his doing. Thanks in part to an out-of-control Chad Reed ricocheting his way down the whoops section and getting tangled with Josh Grant, the Aussie managed to cause a spectacular pile-up on the first corner that knocked Stewart from his bike (no doubt aggravating Stewart's already injured knee) and contributed to Justin Barcia retiring from the remainder of the race. From the ensuing carnage, Reed only managed to salvage a 12th place finish. We imagine some fans will be looking for his head on plate.

Elsewhere, Millsaps continued in fine form, finishing in 2nd place for his 98th(!) uninterrupted race and maintaining the points lead. We bet Bubba would kill for that sort of reliability.

It was also a good night for Ryan Dungey, who hasn't featured much in the championship before now. A 3rd place finish means he is currently sitting 4th on the leaderboard, although no-one really seems to know how.

Trey Canard continues to chuck himself around like a rag doll, after briefly falling from his bike after an aggressive pass mid way through the race. He could really do with an assertive performance to help him keep his current no.2 spot in the championship table. Rather than terrifying us that he is going to injure himself again...

Ken Block's New Hoonigan Racing Division Fiesta In Action At The First Round Of Rally America

By now you have probably familiarised yourself with Ken Block's new HQ and new ride. Clearly KB hasn't waited long to put his new wheels to work.

To compliment the early 90's paintjob (which doesn't look quite so cool as the last livery when in motion - sorry Ken) is an appropriately 90's soundtrack too.

This footage was taking from testing for the Michigan based Sno*Drift rally which took place over the weekend. In the rally itself, a good start from KB and co-pilot Alex Gelsomino for the first few stages looks to have been hampered by time penalties later on that saw them finish 6th by the end of the 20 Stages.

Jackson Strong At The 2013 Winter X Games

Aspen in Colorado was once again home for the Winter X Games and the place of battle for the world’s best snowboard, ski and snowmobile athletes. Although the well-documented talents of five-peat champion Shaun White are always worth checking out, the 2013 X Games was of particular interest to us because of the participation of Metal Mulisha rider Jackson ‘Jacko’ Strong. With two X Games gold medal for Best FMX Trick in the Summer Games, Jacko thought he would see if his freestyle skills would translate to the Snowmobile Best Trick competition at Aspen.

If the X-Games presenters were to be believed, the Aussie rider had a grand total of four hours on the seat of a Snowmobile and had only ever even SEEN snow twice before. How’s that for ballsy? Even despite the inexperience, with a winter equivalent of the Body Varial that won him gold at Los Angeles, Jacko’s run had all the makings of becoming X Games history.

Clearly feeling nervous on the day, Strong’s runs were sadly not to become the stuff of legend. Although tantalisingly close, both runs came up short. A mis-timed grab on his first run led to a bad fall that saw his Snowmobile needing to be recovered from the car park (yep, really) while an over-rotation on his second run flung him over the handlebars. Daring stuff, but still only enough to get him 6th at Aspen. If we don’t see him trying something similar next year we will be very surprised…

2013 Winter X Games Snowmobile Wipeouts

The Winter X Games kicked off last night and the competition at Aspen has already resulted in some great action - and some pretty gnarly crashes, particularly in the Snowmobile Freestyle contest.

If you didn't appreciate how ballsy these Snowmbile guys were before now, this collection of crashes will prove that flipping 200kgs worth of machine (about double the weight of a dirt bike) is far from easy. And you're really going to know about it should it land on your head if you fall off.

Last night, three of the competitors - Texan brothers Caleb and Colton Moore and Swede Daniel Bodin - experienced some nasty accidents during the finals. Both Caleb Moore and Bodin suffered from the front skis digging into the snow while trying land, while Colten Moore over-rotated and looks like he injured his hip but we are awaiting further details. Their mistakes helped contribute to American Levi LaVaelle walking away with the X Games Gold medal.

UPDATE 28th January: We have since learned that Caleb Moore's injury was worse that we had originally realised. Although he was originally taken to the hospital with concussion, the family released a statement on Sunday saying that Caleb had suffered bleeding around the heart and and 'secondary complications involving his brain'.

We sincerely wish Caleb (and his brother, who suffered a separated pelvis) a full and speedy recovery.

People Are Awesome 2013

The latest instalment in the 'People Are Awesome' series hit the yootoobs a couple of days ago and is rapidly doing the rounds. So, we thought we would get in on the act and share it with you guys too.

Okay, so some of these clips aren't exactly '2013' but c'mon - you've just watched humans somersault over moving cars, rollerskate underneath them, catch and hit things they should have no right to do so and generally be very clever. What have you achieved today? Because scratching your balls and microwaving a tin of soup for your lunch doesn't count for much...

Ronnie Mac At Anaheim 2

Are you still keen for some Ronnie Mac action? Once a viral video star, now an officially signed 'athlete' for FMF racing, the hard-drinkin', overall wearin', redneck good rider headed out to Anaheim 2 recently to sign some autographs and make a scene in the pit area.

Don't get us wrong, it's great that the moto community has accepted the parody character as a bonafide celebrity but we can't help feel that the joke has run very thin now. There is only so long someone can pretend to be an asshat without everyone just believing it.

Maybe we're getting hipster about it. We liked Ronnie Mac before he was cool.

Rockstar Racing Supercross Team: Training Day

This is the second episode of Rockstar Energy's Beyond The Finish Line series, which give us more insight into the world of it's Motocross athletes: Jason Anderson, Ryan Sipes, Daniel Baker, Nico Izzi, Blake Wharton and Davi Millsaps.

We thinks it great to get an insight into what these riders have to go through away from the circuit and, for anyone who fancies themselves as a racer, an indication of the level of commitment and hard work that they have to go through every day to be ready for a race.

It's particularly interesting to see the little differences between all the riders when it comes to their training regimes. Even within the Rockstar team, big man Millsaps can't spend too much time at the gym for fear of bulking up and Ryan Sipes likes to ride BMX because it gets his heart-rate up better than cycling on the road.

Ken Block's 2013 Hoonigan Racing Division Fiesta!

Ken Block and his newly formed Hoonigan Race Division (formerly the Monster Energy Rally Team) revealed their new headquarters to the world yesterday. Today, we finally get to see what his new 2013 HFHV (Hybrid Function Hoon Vehicle) and GYM3 racecars will look like.

First up - woah. These vehicles look incredible. Sure, there's a bit of early 90's about the look - plus a design that takes some inspiration from a lot of Volcom patterns that we have seen. Plus, there is something familiar about that blue that reminds us of a certain car that appeared in the recent Dirt: Showdown video game. But it's still a sick design, and a huge leap away from the previous cars. We love it.

Ken himself admits the old skool style: "With the name change to Hoonigan Racing Division, we wanted to take the look in a slightly different direction, one that has been inspired by my love of 80s and early 90s skateboarding graphics, as well as Miami Vice-era offshore powerboats and a dash of hair metal and old school hip hop mixed in for good measure,” he says.

Supercross 2013: Oakland Animated Track

Round 4 of the Supercross at Oakland this weekend and woah, the track looks pretty gnarly. Looks like the sort of layout that would have played perfectly to James Stewart's riding style - just a shame that his ACL injury is likely to stop him from taking advantage of it.

Anyone got any predictions for Saturday? RV looks like he is back on form after Anaheim II - could he be the first rider to pick up a second win? Will Barcia's face-smashing accident slow him down? Will Chad Reed get into his rhythm and grab the win?

FMX Star Andre Villa Hits Up FreestyleXtreme For His UK Arenacross Kit

FMX hero and GQ Magazine's 'Sexiest Man in Norway' Andre Villa is a star of numerous Red Bull X-Fighter, FIM World Championship and Night of the Jump events events.

While he has performed his Freestyle tricks most frequently in America and mainland Europe, he hasn't had quite so many appearances over in the UK. Until now!

Monster Energy: World Championship Desert Racing

These Off Road Trucks are freaking beasts and the Monster Energy Off Road team know how to show it. If you like slow motion footage of vehicle suspension being pushed to its very limits (and who doesn't?) then this video is for you.

2013 is the inaugural year of the new World Championship of Desert Racing, a new series that will find a winner from the combined results of three SCORE International Baja races and three of four HDRA (High Desert Racing Association) races.

And the Monster team couldn't have got off to a better start, with Monster driver Cameron Steele completing the first round at the South Point Vegas 250 now sitting at the top of the leader board, taking the top spot with his 860 horsepower Desert Assassin Trophy Truck.

Moto - Defined: A Short Film By DC Shoes

DC promised to drop this video on the 15th January so we've been waiting with bated breath to see what would be in store when the like of Pastrana, McGrath, Maddison, Canard, Stewart,Cianciarulo and other DC athletes got together to have some fun for a big promo movie.

In the office, the final result has divided opinion. Some have declared it "One of the most epic moto movies they have seen for a long time", with "Great riders, great locations, massive hucks, Pastrana and fireworks!" Others feel like such a build up has left them slightly underwhelmed. What's with the random clay pigeon shooting? Could the only afford about four rockets for the fireworks scene? Why so little bike sounds?

Today, KB and the Hoonigan crew revealed pictures for his new team headquarters in Utah and a few tantalising hints as to what his new car livery will look like. If it isn't a mixture of blue, lime green, purple and leopard print we will be very surprised. Clearly got an early 1990's vibe going on.

World's Best Freestyle Scooter Riders

Scooter Bros around the world must have watched the Extreme Pogo video we posted a couple of days ago and though "Hold up there, Bro. You think you can do something impressive with that springy sticky thing? Well... watch THIS!" *Octuple backflips into the moon and lands with scorched clothes after burning up from re-entering the Earth's atmosphere*

We may have already witnessed some awesome scooter skills from the Nitro Circus Gigant-A-Ramp but this video demonstrates some seriously impressive talent. Even though most cynical skateboarder who sneers at the micro scooter kids in the park will have to doff a cap at the sheer balls some of these tricks take to pull off.

Villopoto Wins Anaheim II Supercross

With all the unpredictability in the Supercross of late, Ryan Villopoto delivered a dose of the familiar with a confident win for round 3 of the 2013 Monster Energy Supercross Championship at Anaheim II.

The race started with a holeshot from Jake Weimer, chased by last weekend's winner, Justin Barcia. However, an uncomfortable landing in the rhythm section sees Barcia taking fall back through the field. His fate was sealed in lap 4 after casing the triple and smashing his face badly on the handlebars. A face filled covered in blood means a very understandable trip to the medical unit.

Before the end of lap 4, Trey Canard is leading the race, followed by Millsaps who is clearly trying to prove that his performance at the very start of the season was no fluke.

By lap 5, a hard-charging 'Poto storms past Millsaps with an aggressive pass and has hunted down Canard by lap 6. Even though RV steams into the lead, everyone is still got huge respect for Canard, who, this time last year, broke him back in an accident that still turns our stomach when we watch it. If he could finish on the podium then that would still be an incredible achievement.

By lap 12, Villopoto has extended his lead to nearly 7 seconds, with Millsaps and Reed duking it out for 3rd. Although Reed snatches the position on lap 15, Millsaps quickly reclaims it back only to slide out on a corner before the end of lap 17, gifting a podium place Chad Reed.

While this is going on, the much-maligned James Stewart falls on a corner where he can't put his busted knee out for support. He will eventually finish down in 12th.

There are no last minute changes over the final few laps. Canard stops RV from extend his lead any further to keep second and Chad Reed finishes 3rd in front of Millsaps who will still hang onto the red plate in Oakland thanks to a slender 3 point lead on the championship table.

Dakar Rally 2013: Best Of Videos

Yesterday the epic Dakar Rally concluded, with past favourites and multiples winners once again taking the top spot on the podium in almost every class.

Just 67% of the entrants managed to negotiate and complete the 8000km+ route from Lima to Santiago but there were lots of familiar faces celebrating their victories:

Stephane Peterhansel brought his total number of Dakar victories to 11 at the wheel of the Mini Countryman All 4 Racin

Russian Eduard Nikolaev brought his Kamaz truck across the line in the fastest time for the Truck class.

Kevin Windham Announces Retirement From Supercross

Anaheim 2 was another great race but the action was overshadowed by the announcement that Kevin 'K-Dub' Windham has retired from Supercross.

As one of (if not the) most senior riders in the game, nobody should be overly surprised to hear the news but that does not make any more of a loss for Supercross fans. K-Dub might not have been a top finisher for years but he was considered one of the most popular athletes in the field. Not least thanks to his tradition of launching himself across the circuit with huge transfer jumps before every race.

Still, when a rider doesn't have his head in the game any more, Supercross isn't the the sort of sport you can afford not to commit to 100% and when you have doubts about racing, that is the right time to step away.

This video from Dirt Shark shows that Windham hasn't found retiring an easy decision but we only hope that he continues to play a role in the sport, whether it is as a pundit, manager or whatever.

Friday Throwdown: Snow Worries!

Unless you have been hiding in a basement (or simply live in a different country) you might have realised that the majority of the UK is covered under a thick blanket of snow.

Unlike most of Europe and other parts of the world that are better used to the mysterious white, chilly stuff that falls from the sky, the arrival of snow means in Britain means a complete collapse of normal society: crashed cars littering the roads, pedestrians skidding into oblivion, a total failure of all public transport systems and a Facebook feed with endless pictures of people's back gardens saying stuff like "Ermahgerd! Extreme... Pogo??

Today, the cheers of a hundred thousand scooter kids echoed through the streets. For today was a momentous occasion: no longer will they be laughed out of skateparks and pointed at on the streets. No more were they bottom of the action sports food chain. Because now... the pogo boys were in town...

In all fairness, what these guys do is totally sick. It's one thing to front flip a BMX or motorcross bike. Or even a scooter. Those things have got wheels. A pogo stick is just a freakin' stick and a spring and if you eat shit while landing a trick on one of those all manner of nasty things is likely to happen.

So, watch this vid and tell us you aren't a little bit impressed...

James Stewart Confirms Torn ACL

We called it back on the 8th January, but now it seems to have been confirmed: after the original Anaheim race, Stewart injured his knee more than he originally let on.

According to stories from Alli Sports and Race X Online, a MRI scan has confirmed damage to his anterior cruciate knee ligament.

However, unlike what we have come to expect from the Stewart of old, Bubba has vowed to continue to ride and compete in the 2013 Supercross championship for as long as he can. How long that will be, we can only guess - but we'll be hella shocked if it's every race...

Ken Block Wheel Smash Mid-Drift

After the fire in the cockpit movie from the final round Global Rallycross in Las Vegas last year, Ken Block and his ever-growing Hoonigan empire have been trying to push the whole Aint Care thing pretty hard to turn it into something.

Conveniently, KB has a good reputation for smashing stuff up, so the Hoonigan boys are likely to have plenty of material to use to turn in into a 'thing'. This was filmed at the Formula Drift Irwindale, where a particularly enthusiast drift resulted in a couple of smashed up rims.

Oh, and a note from the video description: Fifteen52 engineered these wheels to sheer on impact on Ken's request, since replacing a wheel is easier that replacing a control arm, subframe or worse.

Anaheim 2 Pre-Race Press Highlights

Anaheim 2 tomorrow and, aside from expecting another good performance from Tomac in the Lites and Barcia in the 450's, it would take a shrewd Supercross fan to make an accurate prediction about how it's gonna go down.

Loose: Full Length MTB Movie

What are you doing for the next 50 minutes? Working, you say? Pfft. Get real. Instead you are going to clear some time to watch 'Loose'. No, it's not about women with questionable morals (there are many, many videos already out there if you want to watch that) it's about Downhill Mountain Biking.

We can't say this is a movie with much of plot, more some great footage and crashes from a bunch of downhill guys filmed in the Ruhr area of Germany to a backing soundtrack from a rock band called Carpet Room. What sort of house do you need to live in to have a place specially designated as the 'carpet room'..? Anyway, take a look. It's much more exciting that what you are doing right now. 

Dirt Shark At Phoenix Supercross 2013

It was only recently that we praised the Dirt Shark videos for keeping it real and giving viewers an authentic insight into the atmosphere during a Supercross weekend. This video from Phoenix, however, sorta blows. Well, at least a third of it does. So, skip about two and a half minutes past the lame 'robbing a grocery store to steal some Monster' skit and get straight to the Supercross action.

Then you can witness Windham's (even more awesome than normal) pre-race transfer jump, catch some behind-the-scenes chat with the riders, as well as some words from the winners Tomac and Barcia. Plus, of course, a bit of girl ogling too. Much better.

So, stop trying so hard to be cool, Dirt Shark. We already liked you.

Rossi Gets Reacquainted With His Yamaha

If the last post about Rossi we featured contained a bit too much bike caressing and slo mo brooding for your tastes, then this video contains slightly more action by way of an apology.

This official vid from MotoGP shows some practise footage of the Doctor re-familiarising himself with the manufacturer who helped him win four of his six MotoGP Championship titles. Slednecks 15: Snowmobile Madness

We don't often post snowmobile stuff up here. Still, as it is effectively Freestyle on Ice, we don't know why we don't show more. This trailer for Slednecks 15, for example, particularly caught our eye thanks to its mix of backflips, GoPro footage, massive jumps and insane drops.

As you might expect from the '15' in the title, the Slednecks team have been making videos for quite some time. The first of their movies came out back in '98 and since then the Wyoming based team (which includes the likes of Heath Frisby, Kalle Johansson, Carly Davies and many more) have grown a mini-empire selling apparel, outerwear, accessories and their DVDs.

Slednecks 15 was filmed around Canada and Alaska and features crazy action from its award-winning crew. You can see the full movie over on the US version of iTunes.

Moto GP: Rossi and Lorenzo - Yamaha 2013

Haha. This video is brilliant. Brilliant, that is, if you like lots of artsy reflections from close up shots of the new YamahaYZR M1 and lots of slow motion footage of Jorge and Valentino repeatedly crossing their arms and walking seductively towards the camera.

Yes, it is brilliant that Vale is back at Yamaha and we're excited to see what is in store for the 2013 MotoGP season but this video has us wondering:  how seriously they were taking things? Surely this must be a little bit tongue in cheek, right? Right?

Then we saw the pictures:

Damn. Turns out these guys really fucking love that bike.

Supercoss: Anaheim 2 Animated Track

This weekend, Supercross returns to California for the Anaheim II. So, for the sake of consistency, here is the animated map for the course.

Plenty of triples for Stewart to leap, Tuffblocks for 'Poto to crash into and we're sure there is some death-defying point where Windham can launch his traditional pre-race transfer jump from...

Anyone got any predictions for Race 3, then? Another win from Barcia, perhaps? Maybe we can see something more from Stewart and Reed? Will Canard finally have some good luck? Perhaps it's time for Dungey to pick up his game too. Place your bets!

2013 The Tough One Enduro

We don't think that anyone would question the name of this Hard Enduro event in Nantmawr Quarry. Even the hardy crowd, prepared to brave the chilly Welsh weather deserve a medal.

Still, nobody said that the 2013 Tough One event was going to be easy and this video gives us a great report on the most recent Hard Enduro event. 

Perhaps unsurprisingly considering the conditions, the podium was dominated by UK riders: Graham Jarvis, Jonny Walker and Danny McCanney. Well done, lads.

UK Arenacross At the London O2 Arena

Last weekend the O2 Arena in London was home to the first ever round of the UK Arenacross series. Taking the best elements of outdoor racing and squeezing them into a purpose-built arena track, Arenacross offers a condensed spectacle that is great for audiences to enjoy.

As a new event, the 2013 series is just a four date tour (later heading to Belfast, Birmingham and Liverpool) but we hope the combination of MX racing and Freestyle Motocross gets the popularity and attention that it deserves for future shows!

Riding With Ronnie Renner In Turkey

We're not 100% sure what the aim of Ronnie Renner's Network A series 'Upside Down and Inside Out' is - apart from giving the FMX rider a jolly little holiday around the world.

Still, we won't complain as Renner gets to do things that we we're unlikely to get the chance to do ourselves and this little rip around Turkey is well worth a watch, if only to soak up some of the natural beauty that Istanbul has to offer. We want to see a few more tricks next time, Ronnie. You may be having a lovely time but you've got an audience to please...

Enduro Trick Tips From Taddy Blazusiak

Red Bull Athlete Taddy Blazusiak is considered one of the best off road riders on the planet. Hailing from Krakow, Poland, Taddy has had more EnduroCross wins than any other rider and also turns his hand to hard Enduro, SuperEnduro and Rally too.

Today, Taddy is giving us a small insight into an average day in the office by showing us a few tips to help you pull off some hard Enduro tricks of your own. As you might expect for one of the best in the world at what he does, he makes things look pretty easy. Presumably, he takes no responsibly if you give it a go and end up on your ass.

Justin Barcia Get His First 450 Win At Phoenix!

Davi Millsaps' win at Anaheim might have come from nowhere, but it seems like a win at Phoenix from 450 rookie Justin Barcia was on a lot of people's cards. Not only did the audience predict a win from Bam Bam but yours truly is a tiny bit wealthier after calling Barcia in the office wager.

Barcia got off to a storming start for Round 2 of the Monster Energy Supercross Championship, with a comfortable 9 seconds lead by the mid-way point of the race. Despite this only being his second professional race in the 450 class, he showed the same level of talent and composure that helped him dominate in the Lites East last year.

Villopoto had another less-than-perfect race, leading to speculation that he is having problems with the new pneumatic suspension forks on the front of his bike. After taking a tumble on the first couple of laps (exactly as one of the commentator was complimenting his riding style), RV had to fight his way past a surprisingly resiliant James Stewart (who was clearly having problems with his knee) and chipped away at the competition to nab a 2nd place finish, thanks in part to more misfortune from one of supercross's unluckiest riders: Trey Canard.

Trey was sitting comfortably in second for the duration of the race until, to use the commentator's exacts words, 'Poto was "pounding the backside of Canard" on the second to last lap. Whether it was the pressure of Villopoto behind him or just more bad lack, Canard falls on the corner and, thanks to a sticking throttle wasn't able to get back on the bike until Millsaps and Reed had passed him by. Yep, that means that Millsaps is still leading the championship so far...

After getting tangled up with a bunch of other riders in the first corner, we didn't see much from Dungey, who had to settle for an 8th place finish behind Stewart by the end of the race. Still, another excellent race and plenty to keep us guessing about how the championship is going to pan out!
