When it comes to Motocross filming, Vurb Moto's crack team of video ninjas know how to deliver the goods. They've recently released a "Chad Reed and Dean Wilson Vurb Original" which contains footage from the original Chad Reed Platinum video shot earlier this year.

In our opinion this video is actually better than the original, so have a watch and let us know what you think..

Jeffrey Herlings in yet more sand..

Unless you've been living under a rock for the last year or two, you'll already be fully aware of a certain Dutchman's ability to ride a dirt-scooter in sand.

Yup, we're talking about Mr Herlings again. In  out opinion, he's THE greatest sand rider Motocross has ever witnessed, a point which was emphasised at both the Motocross of Nations, and the Benelux GP.

Here we see a video of him doing what he does best, hammering round in ridiculously deep sand. With both onboard and track-side footage you're in for a real treat, it's really no wonder he's so darn fast.

2013 Monster Energy Supercross Season - Complete Preview!

What with it being Christmas Eve, you should be getting into the festive spirit by now. Hell, you could be drunk already. We won't judge.

Even so, there is something more constructive you could be doing than watching Mary Poppins or stuffing your face with chocolate - like watching this 2013 Monster Energy Supercross Preview.

This 45 minute special was aired on CBS a couple of days ago and should get you all up to speed with what to expect from the new season.

With Reed, Stewart, Dungey, Canard, Windham and Barcia (to name a few) gunning to prevent Villopoto from three-peating the championship, 2013 is bristling with potential.

It's also going to be a great year for those who prefer to get behind smaller teams too. Not only will there be rider/manager Chad Reed's TwoTwo Motorsports, there will also be the recently-formed RCH Racing. As an evolution of the Hart and Huntington Team, the Dodge/Sycuan/Bel Ray Suzuki will feature Carey Hart as team owner, Ricky Carmichael as team coach and rider Broc Tickle.

Four By Three MTB Movie: The Atherton Family Film

If you've yet to watch the Four by Three series by Red Bull, you can catch up with the previous three films here. This collection of films follow the exploits of the Atherton siblings Gee, Dan and Rachel - three of the biggest names in UK downhill mountain biking.

While the trio of videos before this one focused on each Atherton individually, this final film features all three and culminates in demonstration of the (Atherton-modified) quarry track at the Revolution Bike Park in LLangynog, West Wales.

Dungey, Musquin And Roczen Talk 2013 At KTM

It's easy to forget that just three years ago, KTM weren't even competing the US Supercross. Today, with the help of three high profile riders and one of the most comprehensive marketing campaigns we've seen and, of course, a championship title courtesy of Ryan Dungey, the instantly recognisable orange bikes are a force to contend with in 2013.

This video gives us some insight into what Dungey, Marvin Musquin and Ken Roczen have planned for next year, along with some more details on the 2013 KTM SX-F 450 Factory Edition bike too.

Half the field of the 2013 Supercross season is going to be guys held together with metal rods and screws and enough combined scar tissue to make Freddy Kreuger wince. Hillbilly Hill Climb On A $150 Bike

When Jamie Robinson isn't riding in the British Superbikes, Isle of Man TT or 250GP World Championships, the Yorkshireman likes to do a bit of presenting for RideApart TV.

We stumbled across this video that sees the intrepid biker venturing out to Glen Helen in California to take part in an event called the Hillbilly Hill Climb.

For reasons that seem to be rather too casually brushed over, most of the competitors of this Hill Climb appear to be dressed in drag. We don't know why or what it has to riding vintage bikes up a hill but hey, it adds to the sense of occasion.

So, armed only with a $150 Yamaha TY250 from a junk yard, a wig and a set of comedy buck teeth, will Jamie make it up the hill? It's well worth watching to find out.

Dirt Bike Kidz Amateur FMX Contest

Dirt Bike Kidz is a movement that was set up by Jeremy 'Twitch' Stenberg to help younger riders fulfil their dreams of becoming professioanal Freestyle Motocross riders.

By helping to host events and attracting other famous riders to help educate the kids, Twitch and his buddies are helping to form the future of FMX. One such contest was held earlier in December in Southern California at the Lucas Oil MX Park.

The Making Of Gymkhana 5

Having taken over so much of San Francisco for several days, we knew that the filming of Ken Block's latest Gymkhana video was a pretty big deal. However, it's not until you see this 'Making Of' documentary that you can appreciate how many people, how much organisation and how much cash it must have cost to create what may rank as one of the most expensive clothing adverts you're likely to see.

BRO Movie Now On DVD and iTunes, Bro

Back in August, we brought to your attention the DVD movie called - awesomely - BRO. This FMX-themed film, starring many of the Metal Mulisha crew, had a limited theatrical release around the States and looks like the sort of gritty, no-holds-barred movie that is bound to go great with a Saturday night, a six pack of beer and a big bowl of nachos.

We're yet to see any sign of the movie appearing outside of America but those in the US can now get their hands on the DVD through Amazon.com or can download it from the US version of iTunes.

As always, make sure you know what you're doing if you're thinking about switching to this version if iTunes from another country because we don't want to held responsible for deleting your entire Barry Manilow back catalogue. We know how much you love that shit.

The first review we've read calls 'Machete meets Motocross'. Whether that is simply because BRO also features Danny Trejo we don't know - but it should give you a pretty good ballpark idea of what to expect!

Night Of The Jumps Final 2012: Every Trick Mega Edit!

Three days ago, Remi Bizouard from France was crowned the champion of the European FMX championship, Night of The Jumps.

Although the final, held in Sofia, Bulgaria, was won by Australian Josh Sheehan, a 2nd place finish from Bizouard ensured that he stayed at the top spot, triumphing over Czech Libor Podmol and fellow Frenchman David Rinaldo. You can check here for the rest of the results.

Christmas Cheer From Musquin, Roczen And Dungey!

Christmas is just a week away. Which means a) being drunk in the afternoon is classed as 'getting festive' rather than 'alcohol dependancy' b) the grocery store has suddenly got a ton of new cheese and c) you really should think about starting your Xmas gift shopping.

It also means we get to see Ken Roczen, Ryan Dungey, Marvin Musquin and some of the rest of the KTM guys wearing silly Christmas hats. Everyone's a winner.

Ronnie Mac: FMF Approved!

Wait, what? First we see Wowboyz rider Chino Braxton hanging out with Twitch and looking like he might start acting legit and riding dirt. Then we find this video that Goon Rider extraordinaire Ronnie Mac has signed as a FMF pro athlete. This is clearly the sort of madness that comes with the forthcoming Mayan apocalypse.

Still, even with respect and industry approval, RM is still prepared to keep it raw. Check the video and then follow this badass on Twitter.

Chad Reed's Go Kart Track

Chad Reed's Kart Track has gained quite a reputation within the industry and it's awesomeness has become legendary - Travis Pastrana cannot hide his jealousy and Ryan Dungey has just bought his own kart in the hopes of challenging him to a race.

American Chopper Live: The Revenge - Bikes, Results, Controversy and More!

Last year, four of America's foremost custom chopper creators faced off against each other in an attempt to establish who could be crowned the  'ultimate custom bike builder' for American Chopper: Live.

Earlier in December, builders from Gas Monkey, Orange County Choppers, Paul Jr Designs and Jesse James (once known as West Coast Choppers) faced off against each other again for a repeat competition called American Chopper Live: The Revenge.

With just six weeks to build their custom machines, the results were shown in a live show in Las Vegas on December  11th , with the public voting on which motorcycle would win the build off.

As could be expected, ACL: The Revenge was filled with drama. After insisting on creating a completely bespoke design, complete with built-from-scratch fabrications, Jesse James defiantly missed the first deadline set by the TV producers, while the live show itself was subject to some extremely heavy editing.

Gas Monkey created this Harley and was voted in second. They were the only team to ride their bike to Vegas.

After Paul Jr Design was crowned the victors for a second time (with a landsilde 58% off all the votes), the Discovery Channel audience was left slightly confused as altercations between Jesse James and Team Fast N' Loud (aka Gas Monkey) lead to a lot of the show being censored. Plus, the finishing order for the remaining teams wasn't even announced until a much later date.

Owing to the number of bespoke parts, Jesse James needed an extra two weeks to build this sport-style custom

Eventually, it was revealed that Gas Monkey finished 2nd, Jesse James 3rd and Orange County Choppers in 4th. Predictably, the results saw a backlash with fans. Some suggesting that the show was a popularity contest rather than a true measure of bike building talent. Others had taken to the Twitter to comment who had built a true 'chopper' and who had even 'built' their bike.

Paul Teutl Sr and his team were voted last, much to the disappointment of his fans.

Chad Reed: Preparing For 2013

We know we post a lot of stuff about Chad Reed but we just had to share this vid purely because OF THE OVERLY DRAMATIC VOICE OVER MAN.

Roner Vision: Behind The Scenes At Nitro Circus Live In London + Baby Parkour!

Did we mention that we went to see Nitro Circus Live in London? We might have brought it up a couple of times before now. We can't remember...

Superbike Star Michael Laverty Talks To FSX About His Move Into MotoGP Riding For Paul Bird Motorsport

First of all, congratulations! How does it feel knowing that next year you’ll be racing in the MotoGP?

It's an exciting prospect for me, honestly I never thought I would get the opportunity to race in MotoGP so it's a pleasant surprise to be proved wrong. It's also a daunting task ahead but one that I'm really up for.

Is it an exciting prospect competing against the likes of Rossi, Lorenzo, Pedrosa and others?

It's nice to share the grid with what are the biggest names in Motorcycling, but the likelihood of truly competing against these guys is slim. The CRT bikes ['Claiming Rule Team' - a new category of entry in the MotoGP class. They will run alongside the normal 'factory prototype' MotoGP bikes] are simply not in the same league as the prototypes so CRT is almost considered a race within a race. Although never say never, we could get some tricky conditions that allow us the opportunity to race with the top guys on the prototypes.

How big a step do you think there is from the British Superbike Championship to MotoGP?

Obviously the level is high in MotoGP, it is the elite motorcycle championship however I don't think the talent gap is as huge as some would believe. The difficulty is in adapting to the new environment, the new circuits, bikes, tyres, brakes, people, countries, temperatures, etc. I could go on but you get my drift. I'm being pulled from my comfort zone in BSB where I know the score and threw into the toughest class in the world. Adapting is going to be the key.

Can you go into any more details about the bike you will be riding as part of Paul Bird Motorsport?

Yes, it will be the PBM Aprilia. It's a different machine to the ART Aprilia ['Aprilia Racing Technology' - a turn-key CRT-spec bike] which is basically a complete bike supplied by Aprilia.

We are developing our own chassis and implementing the Magnetti Marelli electronics (which will be compulsory in 2014) to work with the Aprilia engine. It's quite exciting to be part of a project like that, developing a new motorcycle.

Obviously, the chance to ride for a British team and race around the world would have been an offer that was hard to refuse. Were there other offers for 2013 that you considered?

Yes I was originally looking for the best option to try and win the BSB title in 2013, I had a few good offers in BSB with the top teams but the lure of racing in MotoGP was something that I simply couldn't let pass by.

How much temptation was there to stay with Samsung Honda?

Definitely a big temptation, a second year with a team and bike makes a big difference. I was originally set on staying at Samsung Honda but it's funny how things change.  I have time to come back and try to win the BSB title in the future.

What targets have you set yourself for your first year in MotoGP?

I would like to be the top CRT rider, I realistically can't aim any higher than that. It will be tough for sure as there are some big names on CRT bikes also, riders that I have never come up against in the past. I have always done my homework and I truly believe that I can be in contention to do be the top CRT.

Has Yonny Hernandez been confirmed as your team-mate for 2013? What are your thoughts about riding alongside him?

Yes Yonny will be my team-mate. He is an exciting rider to watch, coming from a Supermoto background he likes to ride the bike quite loose. I look forward to the first test in Sepang to see how we stack up against each other.

What does Eugene and your other brothers think about your move to MotoGP?

He supports it, I speak with him and my other brothers for advise when I have a decision to make. Initially he was cautious about racing in CRT rather than fighting at the front of BSB but when we weighed everything up it was clearly the best option for me at this stage in my career.

Are there any tracks as part of the MotoGP championship that you particularly look forward to racing on? Are there any you haven’t yet experienced?

Many, but the ones that spring to mind are Philip Island and Mugello. I have a lot of learning to do and initially that will be race tracks, by the first round I will know 8 of the 18 circuits. The Texas circuit will be new for everyone so basically at half of the races in will be going into FP1 with no circuit knowledge and at a disadvantage to the best guys in the world, no one said this was going to be easy!

Finally! This is how we pictured Pastrana's life: a massive house filled with bikes and arcade machines. Pool parties with guys and girls backflipping on inflatable crocodiles. A bunch of action sports celebrity buddies hanging out on his compound pulling tricks. And Travis himself - performing stunts!

He might be a broken man, with a skeleton filled with more metal than Wolverine, but this episode proves that he's still got the talent for trickery (as he attempts his take on the 'Aussie Roll') - even if the limitations of his body are holding him back.

Ken Block Gymkhana: The Story Behind The Ladder Jumps

Ken Block's Gymkhana films couldn't be much more action packed, meaning it can be easy to overlook some of the more dangerous stunts amid the clouds of tyre smoke. One recurring trick - and clearly a favourite of Block's - is the 'Ladder Trick'.

Riding The High - KTM 300EXC

When you watch a TV advert for a new bike or car, this is the sort of footage that you want to be watching. Rolling hills, stunning vistas and riders pushing vehicle to their limits. Sadly, seeing people going fast or having fun is the sort of thing that Advertising Standard crack down on with extreme prejudice. And even we would admit that 10 minutes is quite a long time for an advert.

Still, this is Riding High - a short film starring Dakar rider Ben Grabham, dirt biking journalist Adam Riemann and Australian Off-Road Champion Chris Hollis putting a trio of KTM 300EXC's through their paces in a short film for Australian Moto website  Motology.

Supercross Training With James Stewart

We're less than a month away from what could be one of the most exciting Supercross seasons we've witnessed for a long time. Assuming everyone stays on their bike.

Okay, so the news that the Supercross race at Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles on 19th January has had to be moved to Anaheim, California instead is a bit of a hiccup, but some GoPro footage of Bubba reminding us why he is still a force to be contended with makes things all better.

We've shared videos from the Gymkhana Grid finals before but this is a much more comprehensive edit for you to finally get your teeth into!

If we're being honest, we think Monster Energy dropped the ball a little bit when it comes to coverage for the first ever European Gymkhana Grid Tour. The final was at the end of October, starring Ken Block, Vaughn Gittin Jr and Liam Doran and deserved far more attention than it got. 

To be fair, this footage - taken at the Flame and Thunder Show at the Santa Pod Raceway, UK - could arguably be worth the wait. Take a look.

MotoGP Rider Marco Simoncelli’s Gallery 'The SIC History' Opens In Italy

Starting on December 8th 2012, fans of much-loved rider Marco Simoncelli will be able to commemorate his life at a special 'La Storia del SIC' exhibition at the Palace of Culture in Coriano, Italy.

On the 23rd October 2011, Italian MotoGP rider Marco Simoncelli was killed in a tragic accident during the Malaysian Grand Prix after a collision with Colin Edwards and his friend and countryman Valentino Rossi. His death resonated across the world of motorsport, with tributes held around the globe.

As such a well-respected rider, there have been numerous plans for memorials to ensure his legacy: the Misano Circuit (near where Marco was born and raised) was renamed the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli. Plus, in his hometown of Coriano, the local sports area has been renamed 'Palazzetto dello Sport Marco Simoncelli', with one of the town's tram routes be re-numbered 58.  

Coriano continues to honour the rider's memory with its latest tribute - the 'SIC History Gallery'. Opening tomorrow in Via Garibaldi, 127, the exhibition that commemorates Simoncelli's life will take place across three themed rooms in Coriano's 'Palace of Culture' 

The rooms have been arranged by Marco's friend (and the graphic designer of his helmets) Aldo Drudi. Visitors will discover an interactive experience, with objects such as helmets and overalls that they can touch the create a 'contact' between themselves and SImoncelli, as well as experience some of the most memorable moments in his career through special photography donated by the best and greatest motorsport photographers.

Nitro Circus Live: UK Highlights

If you needed any more evidence (after our report from a couple of days ago) that Nitro Circus Live European Tour was absolutely incredible, then this highlight reel from the three UK shows (in London, Birmingham and Manchester) should do the trick.

We were at the show at London show, and got completely wrapped up in the excitement and adrenaline that filled the building. Even if you were there, this is a great reminder of the phenomenal stunts that took place earlier in the week. 

If you are based in the Europe and didn't get the chance to go this year, don't worry - the Nitro boys have already confirmed new dates for 2013!

FSX Interview Nitro Circus FMX Star Josh Sheehan!

Another athlete happy to big up FSX!

Before the London leg of the Nitro Circus Tour kicked off, we were lucky enough to get some time backstage before the event to talk to some of the stars. Once such athlete was Aussie FMX rider Josh Sheehan. Clearly our wishing him good luck at the end wasn't exactly the best omen - a mis-timed backflip landing in the second half of the show meant he had to sit out the final two dates of the tour with a suspected concussion. Whoops - sorry Josh. Hope you're feeling better soon.

How has the reaction from the Nitro Circus Live Europe crowds been?

Really good, actually. I’ve done a few competitions in Europe before where the crowds haven’t been quite so big but they’ve always been excited so to come over here and have 10-15 thousand people is great.

Did you take part in any of the Nitro Circus shows in the US and Australia?

I did the show in Vegas and took part in the Australia and New Zealand tours.

How do the audiences compare?

For starters, I think Aussie crowds love it but can be too mellow. I come over to Europe and they are all screaming, they all love it and it really fires us up and gets us excited too.

Where in Europe do you like performing the most?

I dunno, really. The tour is so intense, we haven’t had much time to hang out in the cities but definitely the loudest city so far had to be Antwerp, Belgium. I think that was the first show up until now to sell out and the crowd got really into it.

You look like you are all in one piece. You’ve managed to survive all the shows so far…

This show has been a very small part of my year. November last year I had reconstructive surgery on my shoulder. I got back on the bike and then fractured my neck, which was a slow recovery because I pinched a nerve but I'm really happy to be back riding, strong and fit

How tense is it getting back onto the bike after being unable to through injury?

Before returning to Freestyle, I just had to do a month of regular riding. Just gentle track riding to ease myself back into things – it was a while before I went back to hit the ramps. By the time I did, I was feeling comfy back on the bike.

It's only up close that you can appreciate that these big bikes must be tough to flip!

 We’ve heard a few people have fallen by the wayside over the course of the tour? [At the time of the interview, nine performers had spent time in hospital to recover from their injuries]

Luckily, none of the Freestyle riders have crashed but a few of the Gigant-A-Ramp boys… some of the BMX guys, they come down hard and a few of them have had some nasty mishaps.

Has anyone got anything new planned for the show? Any big tricks you haven’t tried before?

 Not so much with the Freestyle, because trying something unplanned can be so risky. But a lot of the BMX guys will be bringing out various contraptions and it’s been pretty awesome to see them and see new tricks being landed.

How has it been taking part in so many shows in such a short space of time?

It has its ups and downs. On the plus side, you get to go out there and do it all and there’s no waiting around. But at the same time, it’s a lot of cities… We rocked up in London yesterday, we’ve had half a day this morning, perform the show and then we’re off tomorrow morning. We drove from Antwerp to Amsterdam, bit of partying in Amsterdam, and then flew out to the next tour stop.

How did you get into Freestyle in the first place?

I was lucky to grow up on a farm, from a family of five kids so we did a lot of playing around. As far as Freestyle Motocross, I mean, I loved watching the movies but I never thought it would be a job for me until I was about 17, started racing and we were just doing Freestyle for fun. I was always inspired to do it but I didn’t really think I could make a living from it until a competition came up not far from home. I’d learnt to backflip just for fun and I thought I’d enter. I’d always loved the challenge and the competition and it just inspired me to do more.

What have you got in store as far as next year’s Freestyle season?

Next year will hopefully be a big year for me. I’ve got a lot of Nitro Circus shows to do in Australia and New Zealand and maybe back here in Europe. Plus, I hope to be taking part in X-Fighters and hopefully X Games too.
