The “Botswana boy” rode next to world's premiere celebrities at the 2010 running of the Gumball Rallye. He joined the teams of DJ Muggs from Cypress Hill and US-Rapper Bun B on their European route from London to Stockholm and had a lot of fun. (see the picture).

After that Alastair focused on the next two rounds of the NIGHT of the JUMPs / FIM Freestyle MX World Championship in Sanliurfa/Turkey last weekend. During the practice session Alastair pulled the first Heelclicker flip on the IFMXF track. With a massive run including Whip Flip, Heelclicker Flip and triple combos Alastair reached the first IFMXF final this year and ended up on 5th place at the Saturday contest. In the overall ranking of the NIGHT of the JUMPs/FIM Freestyle MX World Championships he climbed on 6th position.

Last weekend i spent in Turkey. I was there for Night of the Jumps. The weather was great but the place was crazy! It was difficult to find something to eat. There was only sheep's meat and pepper as a salad!

Everything was so spicy!!

When we arrived to the arena, we were told that it's impossible to take off the t-shirts, but they decided to make an exception only for the riders.

The place didn't seem nice, but the show was great. First day i was on 4th position, and second on 6th. Now i'm 5th in the world ranking.

This weekend i'm going to ride in Torino Motor Fest and later i will train in my foam pit to show my new tricks on upcoming events. So wait for the next news!

Jackson Strong Front Flip Video !

Jacko Strong pulled it off with the front flip ramp to ramp on the Crusty Demons Tour Jacko, had made three previous unsuccessful attempts on the current tour, but saved his best for last in front of more than 6,500 crazy Australians freestyle motocross fans!

Jacko said, “I was a lot more relaxed knowing it was the last show of the tour and the support from the Cairns crowd was fantastic, this time I was using thinner resi-mats and had moved the ramps to the full 85 feet. Now I just can’t wait now to do it at the X Games,”

Sphinx Crowns Jones Cairo Champion - Redbull X-Fighters Cairo Results

The Great Sphinx of Giza and 10,000 fans cast a keen eye over the 12 best FMX athletes on the planet on Friday night. At the second stop of the Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour 2010 desert winds, sand and temperatures of 40 degrees Celsius pushed man and machine to the limit, with Adam Jones (USA) emerging victorious in front of one of the world’s most spectacular backdrops.
Directly in front of the only remaining Wonder of the Ancient World, the Great Sphinx of Giza built between 2700 and 2600 BC, it was the American Adam Jones who destroyed his 11 opponents’ dreams of victory by progressing all the way to the Final, where he tricked and flipped his way past the winner of the season opener in Mexico City (MEX), the Norwegian Andrè Villa, to win the event.
“This really is a dream come true for me. The conditions in Cairo weren’t easy, but my final run was perfect, and that meant the judges were then on my side,” grinned the 26-year-old.
In front of the 73.5-metre-long and 20-metre-high Great Sphinx of Giza, it was “only” the nerves of the top freestyle motocross riders from Europe, Asia, America and Australia that crumbled away as they sailed 15 metres high and 30 metres in length through the warm night air. All of the members of the international FMX elite were in agreement: “To be able to jump at such a unique location is just incredible.”
After two of the six stops comprising the Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour 2010 it is Andrè Villa who continues to lead the overall standings. The next event is scheduled to take place on Moscow’s Red Square (RUS) on 26 June 2010.

THIRD WIN IN A ROW FOR LAVERTY

PARKALGAR HONDA’S Eugene Laverty scored his first ever hat-trick three-victories in a row when he won the sixth round of the World Supersport Championship at Kyalami in South Africa, leading from the first lap to the chequered flag – making it four wins out of six starts this season.
Miguel Praia dug deep and finished a competitive 10th to round off a good day for the Portuguese circuit backed Parkalgar Honda team. The next round of the Championship is in the USA at Miller Motorsports Park on Monday May 31st. Eugene: “Kenan kept me honest for the first half of the race but my Parkalgar Honda was very good and was managing the tyre well so I was able to push and go for a break in the second half. I think at the same time Kenan’s tyre was starting to wear which helped. This is my first ever three wins on the trot in any Championship and it has been a long time coming. It’s nice to leave here almost leading the Championship, it is all to play for now in the second half of the season.”
Miguel: “That was much better in the race – Mark Woodage made some changes to my Parkalgar Honda after qualifying and immediately in warm-up I was faster. My team has done a fantastic job, thank you. My pace was good in the middle of the race and I caught the group in front and passed them but then I lost a little rear grip and couldn’t go with Salom. I then lost ninth place to Rea on the last corner but this does not hide the fact it was a good race for me and much better than last year. I also feel we have made a good change to my bike that will help in future races, I am confident.”
Simon Buckmaster, Parkalgar Honda Team Manager: “Eugene rode the perfect race and although Kenan put pressure on him he controlled it from the front; it was fantastic. We have broke the pole position duck by winning from the front and that means it doesn’t matter where we qualify in the future. We are only one-point off the lead of the Championship and the whole team did a great job. Miguel did ride well today and showed desire and ambition. He beat some good people and now we need to get him focussed on bringing that performance to practice and qualifying so he can step up and be fighting with the group in front.”

Redbull X-Fighters - Egypt - No Sand in the Engine

Australian freestyle motocross star Robbie Maddison took to the skies on Tuesday for a final training session ahead of the second stop of the Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour in Cairo (EGY) this Friday. The hot and dry desert wind posed a major challenge for both man and machine in the desert just outside Africa’s most populous city. Friday will see the best 12 FMX riders on the planet battle it out head-to-head directly in front of the 73.5-metre-long and 20-metre-high Great Sphinx of Giza constructed between 2700 and 2600 BC. Maddison, who jumped over London’s (UK) iconic Tower Bridge in 2009 before sailing over the Corinth Canal in Greece in March 2010, is one of the favourites for the overall win on the Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour 2010 featuring stops in Mexico City (MEX), Cairo (EGY), Moscow (RUS), Madrid (ESP), London (UK) and Rome (ITA).

Ancient World Meets FMX Future

The best FMX athletes in the world are set to resume battle in a new location never before seen on the Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour. The ancient pyramids and majestic Great Sphinx of Giza will provide a breathtaking backdrop to the top freestyle motocross action on the planet on 14 May 2010 as a crowd of 10,000 FMX fans watches the world elite go head to head in a brand new format under the blazing Egyptian sun.

After torrential rainfall put a premature end to the opening event of the 2010 season in Mexico City, the top members of the international FMX elite are ready and raring to go in one of the most spectacular locations ever to grace the Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour. There can be few places on the face of the earth with a mystique equal to that of the Great Sphinx of Giza that has guarded the towering pyramids in the desert outside the Egyptian metropolis for over 4000 years. Standing 73 metres long, 6 metres wide and 20 metres tall, the Great Sphinx represents a reclining lion with the head of a human and was built by the ancient Egyptians in approximately 2700-2600 BC.

Despite hoping to make his comeback in Egypt after sustaining serious injuries in a crash during pre-season training in California, the 2008 Tour Champion Mat Rebeaud (SUI) has failed to fully recover from the accident will be replaced by young-gun Petr Pilat (CZE). Joining the Czech rider will be the usual collection of the world’s best FMX athletes: DC's Nate Adams (USA), Robbie Maddison (AUS), Eigo Sato (JPN), Levi Sherwood (NZL) and Andrè Villa (NOR). After securing the win at the opening event in Mexico City thanks to top spot in Qualifying the Norwegian is pumped up and will be looking to extend his lead in the overall standings by throwing down and impressing the Judges with his inimitable style.

Favourite Dany Torres underwent an operation on his damaged wrist after the event in Mexico City and has been forced out.

The event in Giza will also see a new competition format in the Semi-Final and Final, adopting the popular one-upmanship known as “horse” in the world of skateboarding. The lower-ranked rider goes first and pulls a trick, with his opponent then having ten seconds to “answer” with a trick of his own. This system continues until both riders have completed eight jumps in the Semi-Final and ten jumps in the Final. If a rider does not “answer” his opponent’s trick within ten seconds, the jump will not be counted in the rider’s run.

A crowd of 10,000 fans is expected to pack the arena in front of the Great Pyramids and Sphinx outside Giza as the Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour touches down in Egypt for the first time. Gentlemen, start your engines!

LAVERTY AND PARKALGAR HONDA DOMINATE MONZA !

PARKALGAR HONDA ace Eugene Laverty led from the first corner to the chequered flag to win the fifth round of the World Supersport Championship at Monza in Italy – giving him three wins out of five races in 2010 to date.
Miguel Praia improved as the race progressed, bringing his Parkalgar Honda home in a respectable 10th after starting from 13th on the grid. The sixth round of the World Championship is in one week’s time at Kyalami in South Africa.

Eugene: “I led into the first corner – I was able to brake late and pass the other two. Then I tried to make a break and read my pit board to control the gap. I was using my rear brake a little too much and cooked it so the oil boiled over and was on my boot towards the end. Kenan in second place kept me honest but it is great to get this win – my first back to back victories. Thanks to everyone in the team and it’s good that the Championship race is now much closer. I hope we can get the flights to South Africa OK as I like the circuit and had a good result there last year.”

Miguel: “My Parkalgar Honda was perfect in the race and I grew in confidence with every lap. At the end I was catching the group in front and if there had been a few more laps I think I could have attacked them and improved my position. I am happy with my race performance but I need to find a way to perform like this from the start of practice on a Friday for the whole race weekend. Today shows that we have the potential and I am glad that we are racing again next weekend as we can continue to improve.”

Simon Buckmaster, Parkalgar Honda Team Manager: “There’s not much to say about Eugene’s performance it was simply mega. He won the race in the first two laps because he made the break and after that the first three matched each other’s lap times. Great job well done and three victories out of five races is impressive. Miguel also rode well – he was 1.1seconds faster in the race than he was in qualifying. If he was to get to that level quicker in the weekend he would be finishing in the top eight – he nearly caught the group fighting for seventh this race. It was a good 10th place and we will be encouraging him to get up to speed quicker at the next round.”

LAVERTY COMFORTABLE SECOND ON THE GRID

PARKALGAR HONDA racer Eugene Laverty was one of only two riders to get below the 1m 48sec barrier in qualifying for tomorrow’s fifth round of the World Supersport Championship at Monza in Italy and will start the race from second on the grid.
Miguel Praia on his Parkalgar Honda improved his lap times from yesterday and will start from 13th knowing he needs to work harder to improve in the race. The race is on Sunday at 1330 CET. Keep up to date with the team at www.eugenelaverty.com.

Eugene: “I am actually happy not to be on pole after recent experiences of taking pole but not winning the races – I prefer to win races. Right at the end of the session I managed two 1m 47secs laps and that is good. We got through good work with our tyres and in the dry cool and wet conditions we are there and ready to race. If it heats up and is dry tomorrow we have a couple of things to try to go faster as well. It will be the same three riders going for the win in the dry with maybe one or two others showing their faces if it is wet. I’m relaxed and looking forward to the race.”

Miguel: “We finished pretty much where we expected despite improving my lap times. To be honest, I thought I could have gone a second a lap faster than this but it didn’t happen. I can run these lap times consistently and that should be good enough for the top 10 – especially if I can get with a group and use the slipstream to my benefit; my Parkalgar Honda is quick. I am using this weekend to try and understand how I make the next big step in performance and I will be discussing how to improve my riding with the team.”

Simon Buckmaster, Parkalgar Honda Team Manager: “That was an exciting qualifying session and while we were edged by Kenan we are happy with second on the grid; we have taken two poles recently and not won races while won two races from non-pole starts. We expect the top three or four usual suspects to be racing for the victory and Eugene has a great race chance. Miguel has the same Parkalgar Honda bike as Eugene and should be performing better than 13th place – he needs to be more aggressive and work harder to get a good result tomorrow, he has the package and opportunity to be fighting for the top eight. Whether rain or shine tomorrow we are ready for the race.”

Its Dylan from extreme works, just back from the Redbull Pro Nationals @ Landrake. The track was slowly getting better as the weekend went on. I got 7th 6th 5th on Saturday and Sunday hole-shot the first race and lead the race for 2 and half laps and got better and kept consist-ion overall I got 5th position for weekend 5th in championship.

Last weekend I was in Basel for Night of the Jumps. The show was great, and so was the public. I did underflip and all my run was good. I finished 4th in quali, and 6th in the final. I won the step up and whip contest. Now I focus on training, I want to do underflip nac nac, and some other tricks.

I'm very excited and I think im finally over with my crash in Mannheim - I'm ready to try new things and im determined to achieve new goals. So wish me luck, and see you in Snaliurfa, Turkey!

Hannes Ackermann wins first Flight Club

Last weekend the Flight Club series started on One Industries' Hannes Ackermanns compound in Niederdorla. Our Berlinieros Sports rider and local hero did a perfect run with Rock Solid, Shoebox to No-Hand-Landing and huge Backflip combos and dominated the field of riders.

Our 2nd Berlinieros Sports rider the 12 year old Luc Ackermann, younger brother of Hannes improved his talent with Seatgrab combos and Tsunami and made it on 6th position overall.

VICTORY FOR RELENTLESS SUZUKI AT OULTON PARK

After only two full seasons in the British Superbike Championship, Relentless by TAS Suzuki posted their debut top step in the premier class with Michael Laverty earlier today at Oulton Park.

Laverty’s demolition of the field in the British Superbike class demonstrates the progress, Moneymore based TAS Racing has been making with their GSX-R1000 Superbike already this season. After being virtually written off in the pre-season build up, both Laverty and Seeley now sit proudly in the top five in the current standings.

“That was a really nice feeling today. I just hope it goes a long way to being forgiven for my crash at Thruxton,” he joked. “It’s really strange because it’s probably the easiest I’ve had to ride to win a race, never mind so convincingly. It’s not often you get the perfect bike, but the boys gave me one today for that win. We still have a bit to go with the dry set-up on out GSX-R Superbike, but we are getting closer every weekend and I’m confident we can be up at the front in the dry very soon – possibly as soon as Cadwell Park. The boys deserve this bit of success for all their hard work.”

Alastair Seeley
“I am a bit frustrated about not getting on the podium in race one, but there’s no point moaning about it. I missed a gear and fought back to fourth so we have to be pleased with that after a tough weekend at the previous round. In race two I spun up going off the line and ended up bashing bars and fairings mid-pack. I got my head down and just tried to be smooth on the throttle and when I got onto the back of Josh Brookes he was all over the place. His tyre was obviously in worse condition than mine at that stage, so to get past for sixth was a good result in difficult conditions. I’m learning all the time about this Superbike and I’ve stayed fit and healthy with the North West 200 just over a week away – so that’s a big positive.”

“After all the hard work our team has put in, that was a pretty emotional day for me and I have to say, Michael’s win was probably one of the best rides I’ve ever seen – he really destroyed the field and was even comfortable putting in consistent quickest laps. It’s a great reward and a boost of confidence for the whole team and proves just how great a bike the current GSX-R1000 really is. I must obviously give credit to Michael, who I have always believed in, and this will be a real confidence booster for him.

“Alastair may be disappointed at missing out on a race one podium, but the wee man just continues to blow us away with his talent, enthusiasm and self belief. Let’s not forget it’s only his second time out at Oulton on a Superbike and his comeback from mid pack to sixth was phenomenal in race two. It also shows where he has come from when he’s disappointed not to be on the podium every weekend as a rookie.

“We really do have two genuine contenders this year, who are as good as anyone in the championship, and we are delighted to have helped Suzuki retain top spot in the manufacturers’ standings; it’s always good to do your bit.

“I must give a special mention to the boys in the garage who work a very tight schedule with our BSB and road racing commitments, so fair play to Leigh, Arnie and Davy Kertesz as they found an enviable wet weather set up for our riders today. We’re not that far away in dry conditions either and this sets us up well for next week’s North West 200.”
