Rob Smith Rides Through The National Palace In Bulgaria

When you think Downhill MTB events, it's not unreasonable to assume that there will be a hill involved somewhere. As the name suggests, the Red Bull Ride The Palace competition was slightly different.

Red Bull seem to be smashing it at the moment with spectacular venues and hot on the heels of the Red Bull Skylines event, held inside the spectacular Grand Palais in Paris, is this unusual ride inside the National Palace of Culture in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Rather than dirt tracks, mud jumps and tree trunks, competitors had to negotiate a course that included escalators, spiral staircases and function rooms, from the roof of palace down 7-floors.

The competition was eventually won by Slovakian rider Flilip Polc but this footage comes from FreestyleXtreme team rider Rob Smith. Loving the FSX helmet sticker, Rob!
